Star Wars Snowspeeder

My Star Wars Snowspeeder collection features individually customised Rebel Alliance Snowspeeders, with unique paint schemes designed around favourite characters, pilots, squadrons and factions from The Empire Strikes Back, A New Hope, Return of the Jedi, Rogue One, Andor, Star Wars Rebels, The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka and the wider Star Wars universe.

The Battle of Hoth is one of my main sources of inspiration, particularly the Rebel pilots of Rogue Squadron and the defence of Echo Base against the Imperial AT-AT Walkers. My character-themed Snowspeeder designs explore Luke Skywalker, Dak Ralter, Wedge Antilles, Wes Janson, Zev Senesca, Derek Hobbie Klivian, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, General Carlist Rieekan, Major Bren Derlin, Admiral Ackbar, Lando Calrissian, Nien Nunb, R2-D2, C-3PO, Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, Biggs Darklighter, Garven Dreis, Jek Porkins, Jon Dutch Vander, Davish Pops Krail, Dex Tiree, General Jan Dodonna and Crix Madine.

I also explore custom Snowspeeders based around Rogue One and Andor characters, including Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso, K-2SO, Bodhi Rook, Chirrut Îmwe, Baze Malbus, Saw Gerrera, Galen Erso, Lyra Erso, Admiral Raddus, General Davits Draven, Antoc Merrick, Bistan, Pao, Moroff, Benthic Two Tubes, Edrio Two Tubes, Ruescott Melshi, Luthen Rael, Kleya Marki, Vel Sartha, Cinta Kaz, Bix Caleen, Brasso, Maarva Andor, Wilmon Paak, Kino Loy, Karis Nemik, Arvel Skeen, Taramyn Barcona and Lieutenant Gorn.

I particularly enjoy imagining how a Snowspeeder might look when customised for characters from The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, including Din Djarin, Grogu, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, Cobb Vanth, Cara Dune, Greef Karga, Moff Gideon, Bo-Katan Kryze, Koska Reeves, Axe Woves, The Armorer, Paz Vizsla, Carson Teva, Captain Enoch, Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, Morgan Elsbeth, Ahsoka Tano and Grand Admiral Thrawn.

I also create alternative Imperial, Sith, Mandalorian and bounty hunter Snowspeeder designs featuring Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Darth Maul, Count Dooku, General Grievous, Orson Krennic, Grand Moff Tarkin, Director Krennic’s Death Troopers, Imperial Stormtroopers, Snowtroopers, Scout Troopers, Imperial Royal Guards, Iden Versio, Del Meeko, Gideon Hask, Cad Bane, Bossk, Dengar, IG-88, Jango Fett, Aurra Sing, Embo, Black Krrsantan, Pre Vizsla and Gar Saxon.

My custom designs also draw on Rogue Squadron, Phoenix Squadron, Red Squadron, Gold Squadron, Blue Squadron, the Rebel Alliance, the Galactic Republic, the 501st Legion, the 212th Attack Battalion, the 104th Wolfpack, the Galactic Empire, the New Republic, the Resistance and the First Order.

The idea behind these custom Snowspeeders is to explore how familiar Star Wars ships could be personalised around individual characters. Each repaint has its own combination of colours, markings, insignia and weathering, creating a connection to a particular Jedi, clone trooper, Rebel pilot, Mandalorian, Imperial officer or bounty hunter.

I design and paint each Snowspeeder myself using layered airbrushing, hand-painted mechanical detailing, panel variation, chipped paint, battle damage, scratches, oil staining, engine grime and worn surfaces. I want each piece to look as though it has its own history, rather than simply reproducing the original factory colours.
